Hell’s Kitchen: Vanessa burns a bridge

I have to admit, I didn’t watch the show last night. I went to my very first Yoga class and was so relaxed by the time I got home, I didn’t want to ruin it by watching Gordon Ramsay! Not that I don’t love the guy, but his way in the kitchen is not at all soothing or peaceful ;)

But I catch up on all the good stuff this morning - here’s a bit of what Vanessa told Orato.com today:

“I’ve heard some things about how incompetent the contestants are and how we can’t cook. The thing is that all of us are very talented cooks. I’ve been doing this a long time, and it upsets me to know people think I can’t cook. I work at a really busy restaurant that does 700 to 1,200 covers a night. We don’t do stupid food; we do really good food. I know what I’m doing.”

I don’t know… I’m sure it’s a completely different environment, with high stress, a new menu and Gordon Ramsay barking down your throat, but I’m not totally convinced that all the cooks on that show are actually good cooks. Does anyone remember “chicken in a pumpkin?” I’m just sayin…

Anyway, if you want to read Vanessa’s full interview, check it out here.
